Doug Henry practices in the firm’s Litigation and Probate Practice Groups. While attending Albany Law School in New York, Doug worked for the Counsel to the Governor. Upon graduation from law school Doug worked on a U.S. Senatorial Campaign and later practiced law in New York City until relocating to Ohio in 2007. While in New York, Doug focused his practice on Insurance Litigation. He brings breadth of experience which spans the representation of insurer’s of Fortune 500 companies to the prosecution of first party insurance claims on behalf of individual and commercial property owners. These matters include litigation of underlying events such as wrongful death, catastrophic injury to property and person, and business and property loss. Further, he has prosecuted and defended scores of insurance coverage matters in New York and Ohio.
Doug has represented his clients in both Federal and State courts in New York and Ohio at both the trial and appellate court levels. In addition, he has extensive experience in alternate dispute resolution including mediation and arbitration. His philosophy is simple. “Be prepared”. A successful case is built from the beginning by doing the hard work that many lawyers skip.
Doug has published articles on litigation and estate planning in publications such as the Domestic Relations Journal of Ohio and the Lorain County Legal Times. He has appeared as a speaker for continuing education programs for bar associations and courts as well as for groups such as families of elderly and vulnerable loved ones in need of estate planning.
Doug has been married for almost 25 years and has two children. As a family, they enjoy outdoor activities, cooking and, all of the wonderful attractions in the Cleveland metropolitan region.
