Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated attorney to join our litigation practice group. The ideal candidate will have at least 5-7 years of experience working in all phases of litigation, including client intake, drafting pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and trial work. Besides traditional litigation, the job entails entity formation, transactional, and general counsel work. Far from a backroom, research-and-writing-only job, this position is client-facing and offers a genuine opportunity to develop and sharpen litigation and trial skills. A portable book of business is encouraged but not required. In addition to serving the firm’s institutional clients, the successful candidate will be expected to build client relationships and develop a client base. Responsibilities:
- Manage a wide range of litigation matters from inception to resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, and other memoranda
- Conduct depositions, discovery, and pre-trial work
- Appear in court and participate in hearings, mediations, and trials
- Manage client communications and case strategy
- Create corporate documents for new and existing business entities
- Prepare transactional documents such as asset purchase agreements, real estate purchase agreements, and membership interest purchase agreements
- Offer guidance as general counsel to public and private sector clients
- Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and legal secretaries on complex litigation
